Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there should be something that you've hooked into, or caught onto? A thing that triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, what was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think of your lifetime as it seems to be nowadays with regards to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who's my source?” So whenever we discuss the last stage to the awakening being pure trust acim author, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon many of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's similar to making a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other. A good wind comes along and poof, it's just blown over. It can't even stand only a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon anything else; dozens of issues that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It certainly comes down to the essence of who's my brother? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how many of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that certain?So you're asking the question, “When someone dies or seems to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is really a hallucination. That is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn't reality at all. There is no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to build his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons start out with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I've given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number four, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's discussing thoughts. First He's discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He returns with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You will see he's wanting to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, that is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time to teach us there's no such thing as time, to take us back compared to that timeless moment that is the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That's precisely the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What sort of things would you spend money on, nowadays?
