The 94th Academy Awards or the 2022 Oscars have announced the list of winners on Sunday (27/3) local time at the Dolby Theater, Los Angeles, United States. Dune won six trophies at the 2022 Oscars.
The 2022 Oscars are hosted by Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer. There are also world musicians who will appear at the 2022 Oscars such as Beyonce, Billie Eilish and Finneas, Reba McEntire and Sebastian Yatra.
The winner of the 2022 Oscar award is dominated by Denis Villeneuve's Movie, Dune. Movie Dune brought home six trophies, including Best Movie Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects.
Will Smith won the Best Actor category. This is the first Oscar won by Will Smith in his career, which was started since 1986. Will Smith managed to beat his competitors, namely Javier Bardem (Being the Ricardos), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Power of the Dog), Andrew Garifield (tick, tick... BOOM!) and Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth).
Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain managed to bring home the 2022 Oscar for the Best Actress category. This award was given for Jessica Chastain's acting in playing Tamy Faye Messner, a singer and talk show host, in the Movie The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
"We've been through a lot of trauma either because of isolation or feeling lonely due to the pandemic. As part of the LGBT community who has experienced a lot of things, ranging from violence and others, I was so inspired by the figure of Tammy Faye," Chastain said in his victory speech at the 2022 Oscars stage. .
"For those of you who feel lonely, realize that we love you unconditionally, you are unique," he continued.
