Former Man Utd keeper Kuszczak claims Newcastle loan offer from seestyle's blog

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Dario Agrazal Jersey Tomasz Kuszczak has revealed that Newcastle United tried to sign him on loan in January.

Newcastle were on the lookout for a new keeper both last summer and in January, and eventually brought in Martin Dubravka on loan from Sparta Prague to great effect.

Dubravka has subsequently signed Josh Harrison Jersey a permanent contract at St James Park, but Birminghams Kuszczak claims he was one of the keepers Newcastle had previously been interested in signing.

But Kuszczak, who was also a target for Derby County, says Birmingham rejected the approach from Rafa Benitezs Newcastle.

Speaking to , he said: In the winter transfer window, I had a loan offer from Newcastle, and Derby also approached me. However, Birmingham said that I should stay Erik Gonzalez Jersey at the club.

Kuszczak previously spent six years at Old Trafford, making over 60 appearances for United, but he has not played in the Premier League since 2012.

The 36-year-old has been told he can leave the club by manager Garry Monk and he will consider his options before deciding whether to take up the opportunity.
