Any behavior that is violent, intimidating or controlling that makes you or your family scared and unsafe can be considered as family or domestic violence. Domestic abuse is routinely interpreted as a gendered crime committed by men against women. Men can equally experience abuse from their female partner in a violent relationship. Normally, domestic violence against men can include physical violence, bullying, emotional abuse, and social isolation.
If the AVO reaches the final stage against the Defendant, then it shall be recorded and included in their criminal history. However, this will not be put on their criminal record, hence, it will not show in their criminal record check either. But, on the other hand, if the defendant breaks the AVO, and is charged for that offense as well, then that offense will be included and will become a part of their criminal record.
