Ok, I believe there should be friend request,but also have the ability to pm people with no thier buddy. They will also be like a pm background of the time your logged in, so you don't need to continue typing there name.
By way of instance, I want to pm... noob1234... but instead of having him to become my buddy, all I do is hit on a pm button, type in noob1234, and send a message. Then I want to Runescape 3 gold respond again, simply click on the pm button, hit get record, and select noob1234. This also avoids Friends listing spam.
