The rise of Brian De La Puenta as an elite center has been great for the Saints however, both sides have been not able to agree on a long-term contract at this point. The team on Tuesday officially renewed his contract for a one-year contract worth $2.023 million. Smart money is now on the team trying to negotiate an extension for this season.

On Tuesday, the contract details for the quarterback Kevin Kolb trickled out, and some sense was drawn from the initial $33 million deal. It turns out that Kolb's contract is only guaranteed $1 millionand the base salary of $6.1 million. Kolb could earn $13 million however only if he's the primary player and has plenty of escalators and incentives.
