EA has finally confirmed that FIFA 22 is "powered by football" 27 years after the game was first announced from Lora Young's blog

However, thanks to EA, we now know that FIFA 22 will be "powered by football. " The debate over whether football should be referred to as soccer is as old as time.  Yet another question remains unanswered: precisely what does this mean?

Taking a look at Twitter right now, or even a year ago when we were all knee-deep in FIFA 20, it is clear that the community has frequently called for changes to the game's gameplay.

The stale Frostbite engine is only one part of the argument, and playing a football game like FIFA 21 where passing has been so inconsistent and complicated for the past year has left many players with a sour taste in their mouth.

For the first time in the series' history, FIFA 22 provides the developers with an opportunity to take a different route.  Depending on who you talk to, whether it's our followers on Twitter with the hashtag #UltimateTeamUK or professional players, some of whom I've interviewed in the past, the gameplay is repeatedly mentioned as a source of frustration.

Hypermotion Technology in FIFA 22 is a new feature.
All of those who had expressed dissatisfaction with the in-game experience in the previous three installments were given reason to be optimistic on July 9.  The cover star, Kylian Mbappe, was announced, much to the surprise of almost everyone, but there were two interesting details on the case art that were not revealed until after the announcement.

“Hypermotion Technology” is the first of these specifics.  Wow, that's something we haven't heard of before!

A significant portion of the Frostbite community is dissatisfied with the engine.  As a matter of fact, the game's fanbase has been vocal about how the gameplay has deteriorated, particularly since the release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

A major feature from EA has been teased in recent weeks.  We anticipate that EA Play Live, their annual news conference, will be held on July 20th, and that they will provide additional information about this enhanced technology. . But what the players really want is for there to be less talking and more doing.  A lot is riding on this – and it feels like a major turning point in the franchise.  In order to be more enjoyable to play, its performance on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S simply must improve.  The reward day (market decline) is when I plan to spend MUT 22 Coins purchase cards in the FIFA Ultimate Team, and then I'll spend the remaining FIFA 22 COINS purchase cards after that.

In the year 2021, EA Play Live will be held at
So let's be clear: FIFA games will continue to sell in large quantities year after year.  The introduction of Ultimate Team has been a brilliant one, despite the fact that it has been controversial in some circles.  The Career Mode format, as well as Pro Clubs, is a popular one that keeps people coming back for more.

Whoa, football is a source of power.
“Powered by Football?” is the second detail.

To make light of this situation, the obvious joke is: wait a minute, are we only now being propelled forward by soccer? At the end of the day, FIFA is a football simulation that has been in operation since 1993.

Butwhat these two details on the cover art do suggest is that there appear to be significant realistic changes in the works, which is consistent with what has been said about the book.  We're sure to hear more about this at EA Play Live, and it could very well be the rework that we've all been waiting to hear about.  Improving defensive, passing and attacking skills as well as setting up set pieces would be a good idea, wouldn't you think?

When it comes to slogans, they are usually very telling.  Furthermore, the increased focus on real football and face scans in recent years when developing the game would suggest that more accurate movements and player representation will be a big strength for Hypermotion, and games like FIFA 22 Coins provide endless possibilities.  View the site AOEAH.COM for more information.  In situations where sports and e-sports collide, the result is almost always positive.

While striving to maintain elements of arcade gameplay, finding the right balance will become increasingly difficult as the series progresses toward realism.  However, there is no doubt that the bar has been set extremely high for the first game on next-gen (which is currently current-gen for the majority of players).

The goal isn't to hit the crossbar, though, and this new engine – if that's what it's supposed to be – needs to find the back of the net.
