You can grab the tweaker here. PSO2 just got a patch now that should probably fix PSO2's problems with no need for the tweaker, but it meseta pso2 couldn't hurt to keep it around. If you'd like pvp, you are not likely to receive it in PSO. You are going to end up in a situation where you can not use any gear that is new because you won't have sufficient stat points for this, if you fuck up your mag. You can respec your own mag but the currency you want to delevel it comes. Beyond these two large points, I have not been bothered by the microtransactions in PSO2. Amassing enough in game money to buy a year's worth of home time is insignificant if you care about participant home. It is definitely PSO2 worth trying for some time, if only since PSO2's battle gets fairly entertaining, at least at the higher levels when dinosaurs stop dying in 1 hit.
Long term is up to what you would like to grind for and just how much and just how my classes that you wish to receive the best equipment for. As soon as you've maxed characters under your belt you can grind for most of the stuff for free if you want.
