Rocket League is a deceptively difficult esport to master. In contrast to other esports, there isn't a large hero pool, a variety of game types, or a large number of maps to master. Rocket League Tips is a pure video game with excellent core mechanics and an absurdly high skill ceiling, as the name suggests. The road to progressing in a game, like any other, can be paved with stumbling blocks. This guide is intended to assist you in identifying a few things to work on at each rank that will help you progress from Bronze all the way up to Supersonic Legend (OK, maybe not that high, but hopefully on the right path). It is divided into five sections.
So, first and foremost, you're probably wondering, why should I pay attention to you? I'm by no means a professional, but I've been playing consistently since 2016 and am based in the Champ 1/2 area. In addition, I've watched a lot of RLCS gameplay and spoken with a lot of top players over the last few years to get a sense of how they approach the sport. If you're a high-level Champ who wants to make a push toward SSL, this guide is probably not the best fit for you. However, if you're on the path to becoming a champion, here's a guide on how to progress from Bronze to Silver to Gold to Platinum to Diamond and finally to Champ.
How to progress from Bronze to Silver status in RL Car Designs
The Bronze rank is stunning in its own right. Always remember to have fun with the game at this point, as it is one of the most pure forms of the sport, with every player trying to figure out how to simply make contact with the ball. However, if you've been here for a while and want to advance, here are three useful suggestions.
1. Disable camera shake in your camera settings.
Camera shake is a default setting in the game that adds a sense of realism to the game by making everything feel a little more violent when the ball makes contact with it. It serves its purpose, but it can also be extremely distracting. Anything that interferes with your ability to follow or hit the ball is a negative in Rocketleaguedesigns.com, and camera shake is a major source of frustration in the game.
2. Try not to become discouraged.
It is intended to be difficult to hit the ball. The game appears to be quite difficult at first glance. Do not expect to begin making solid, consistent contact until you have invested some serious time. If you become dissatisfied with the game early on, you will lose your Rocket League ranking before it has even begun.
3. Take your time.
It's much more satisfying to be the one who drives the ball into the basket after everyone else has missed. Frequently, the bronze rank resembles a soccer game between elementary school children, with a swarm of cars following the ball at all times. Make an effort to keep your distance from the swarm. Be patient, and suddenly and consistently amazing goal opportunities will present themselves to you. It's also a great way to get a feel for how the game will look in the future. Allow everyone else to go ball chasing, and use this opportunity to observe how the ball bounces off different surfaces, what warning signs to look for to cover the goal, and when a scoring opportunity will present itself..
How to get to the top of the {anchor} leaderboards.
You've mastered the fundamentals, which is fantastic. Silver is where the real fun begins. While the situation is still dire, there has been some contact, as well as a smattering of whiffs to accompany it.
1. Begin aerialing as soon as possible
Don't lose your mind right away. In Rocket League, there are two types of aerials. Aerials consist of a single jump and a double jump (or fast aerials). Single jump aerials will be covered later on, but for now, practice single jump aerials. This is a straightforward exercise: jump up, tilt your car back, and use a little boost to reach the ball. Another advantage of single jump aerials is that you keep your flip. The fast aerial makes use of your flip in order to get to the ball more quickly, and it becomes increasingly important as you progress through the ranks. For the time being, concentrate on single-jump aerials. You should still be able to get to the ball faster than your opponents, and timing your flip once in the air allows for stronger contact while aerialing.
2. Make an effort to understand the rotational rhythm.
Silver games are still a whirlwind of chaos. When compared to higher ranks, the game does not have a clear flow. However, you could be the one attempting to provide some stability to your team by rotating players. The ability to rotate in {anchor} is one of the game's most important mechanics. For a more in-depth guide, please see the link provided below. Simply put, rotation simply means that when your teammate is chasing after the ball, you stay back, and when they miss or hit the ball, you take over the pursuit. Both are critical. Going too early results in double commitments that leave open goals, while going too late results in being too passive and causing more confusion overall.
3. Crosses at the most fundamental level
The most important thing in Rocket League is scoring goals. Crosses, which are passes from the side that create scoring opportunities, will account for a significant number of goals. In Silver, the first step is to learn how to hit the ball into the corners in order to create excellent scoring opportunities. This can be accomplished by simply rolling the ball along the back wall until it drops into the middle. When the ball is separated from the wall, it will be easier to defend, but for now, simply figuring out corner angles will generate plenty of scoring opportunities.
Bonus tip: Experiment with various camera settings. Although camera shake should have been eliminated by now, increasing the field of view and angle can help to loosen things up. If you're ever in a rut, take a look at how some pros set up their scenes; it might just be what you need to get out of it.
