The national pattern is still so popular in France that some fancy editions too have been made keeping in mind traditional decks. The sample on the right shows a non-standard single-ended version which artist Claude Weisbuch created for Grimaud-France Cartes: the indices for the first pip card of each suit, "1", have been turned into a more international "A", and the suit signs have been redrawn, but the twelve courts have maintained their historical names.
