The Welshman is a man who comes from Wales. On Friday, June 11th, Dave Tonge set a new world record by swimming in a wetsuit for 24 hours in an endless pool, becoming the first person to do so in the history of swimming. Tonge's undertaking was the longest of its kind in history. Tonge was successful in raising several thousand pounds (approximately $8200 USD) and donating it to the Velindre Cancer Hospital in Cardiff as a result of his fundraising efforts.
