EA's directives were minimal, if any, other than telling the players and the coaching staff that it was an "must-win game." But the game didn't require an additional edge. "Just as in a real game, players were subbed on and off. We were able to catch tired defenders as well as fresh forwards when the game started to open up," recalls Eaves. "You felt the animosity. There was a lot of fouls in the opening five minutes - it was exactly what we wanted."
