When they log in for the first time following a pre-patch it will prompt players to choose the best option for them to either keep their character on their existing server, that will be automatically converted to the Burning Crusade, or to transfer their character for free of cost to a WoW Classic server only buy WoTLK Gold. It is impossible to login using their account until a decision regarding which version of the game to play is made.
World of Warcraft Classic: Burning Crusade Releasing
There is, naturally the option of keeping characters in both versions the game, albeit for the cost. Blizzard has launched the possibility of cloning characters (previously $35. but now decreased to $15 after a player protests) so players can have two versions of the same character.
The Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch period is significantly shorter than players expected. Blizzard has announced during its BlizzConline event earlier in the year that players will be able to level new characters, specifically new Blood Elf and Draenei characters before the expansion's official launch.
It was widely believed by players that this was going to be a four-week pre-patch, which is typically the case for most pre-patch's for WoW's many expansions throughout its history. However, the Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch will only last two weeks it is irritating more than a few players who feel they'll be unable to achieve the 100+ hours it takes to level up a character within the timeframe of two weeks WoW WoTLK Classic Gold. Players can continue to increase their level as the expansion begins on June 1 but they'll start way behind those who are already level 60 and ready.
