The dosage of this medicine for children depends upon their weight. Do not increaseyour dose, take medicine more frequently, or take it for longer than the prescribed duration. Stop the medicine properly when so directed.
You can take this medication by mouth as directed byyour doctor. Take this medicine with or without food. You can take this drug with food if you have nausea.
Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine because it may cause withdrawal. The risk of withdrawalis higher in people who have used it for a long time or in high doses. Your doctor may reduce your dosage slowly to prevent withdrawal. The withdrawal symptoms include restlessness, mental or mood changessuch as anxiety, trouble sleeping or suicidal thoughts, runny nose, watering eyes, nausea, diarrhea, sweating, muscle aches, or sudden behavior changes.
Hydrocodone may not workas well if used for a long time. Hydrocodone may sometimes cause addiction. The risk is higher in people who have drug or alcohol addiction. To lower the risk of addiction, take this medicine exactly as prescribed.
Dosage for moderate to severe pain
Adult dosage
2.5 mg or 5 mg hydrocodone / 300 mg or 325 mg acetaminophen:The dosage is one or two tablets taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed. The maximum dosageis eight tablets per day.
7.5 mg hydrocodone / 300 mg or 325 mg acetaminophen:The dosage is one tablet taken 4 to 6 hours as needed. The maximum dosageis six tablets per day.
