The team-building part of the game, as well as the actual playing of the game, are the two main aspects of this game. Playing the game requires its own tactics, and the controls, as compared to the console version or even other mobile basketball games, can be difficult to master. Fortunately, once you've completed the tutorial, you can switch to auto-play mode and grind your way through the levels without having to think about it. Auto-play is useful for random grinding, but once you've mastered different on-court tactics, manually playing is preferable for winning tough games.
You are given unique energy to use in drills, leagues, and game play during the season. Basketball is simple in leagues and seasons, but drills require you to complete different mini games, such as bench pressing or three-on-three drills. When you're focused on league or season play, it's easy to forget about them, but forgetting about them can just affect your team's stats.
At least half of the game's enjoyment comes from team-building. Card packs, which are most often won as a reward after games, may be used to acquire new players. If you watch an advertisement video, you'll get five new players instead of the three you'd get if you didn't.
Spending MT Coins will buy you even more card packs; the more rare the packs are, the more MT Coins they will cost. NBA 2K MT Coins can be bought through in-app purchases or won by completing tasks on The Checklist (option in the menu area). League Points are a more popular type of currency that can be used to buy new gear and other goodies.
In rarity, the majority of players start with one star. If you want to upgrade a player to the next level of star rarity, fill up all of their equipment slots first, then select "upgrade." Some players can only be upgraded once, while others can be upgraded up to four times for a total of five stars.
