GPS

The best thing you can do to instantly improve your kitesurf speed is buy a GPS unit. Sealed inside a waterproof bag and strapped to your arm this will give you accurate readings of how fast you're going and can be used to record data so you can analyze it later on and work out which your fastest runs were. This is great as a feedback and motivational tool and provides a benchmark against which you can keep improving.

Speed Kitesurf Board

The boards you have used up to now in your kitesurf career were most likely twin tip boards, these are very different to the boards used in speed kitesurfing which tend to be larger, wedge shaped with large fins. Mandela (Madiba)

A day of history. A day that will never be forgotten. The day that Nelson Mandela was released from prison. That day South Africa was on everybody's tongues. History was rewritten on that specific day (not good with dates so sue me for not remembering the exact date but the images are still fresh).

Nelson Mandela walked unto the world scene in a big way. A man of honour and dignity, a man with a heart for the people. This man had all the reasons to hate and to blame, but instead, he came along and started to built a beautiful future for South Africa.

No Bush or Clinton, no Queen or Prince on this earth did more to try and unify, not only South Africa but the world.

Some South Africans, for political reasons, tried to "hate" (more dislike) him but he made it so difficult. Even at the ripe age of 90, closer to 91 (18 July 2009), he is still the statesman of the world and father to South Africans. The man who made long sleeve shirts fashionable in South Africa and brought us a distinctive dance; the Madiba jive.

Madiba, united us wherever he went. In 1995 the country watched the rugby world cup as a unit and rejoiced together in the streets when the Springboks (South Africa) won. He brought us the Madiba magic on the sports fields of the world. I was never big on soccer but  yalla shootthat feeling of unity made me watch that historical game in 1996 when South Africa (Bafana Bafana) won the African Cup of Nations.

One day he will be gone (that day South Africa and the world will come to a stand still) but he will never be GONE. Obama, you've got some ruling to do.

Soccer World Cup 2010

Danny Jordaan, you made us very proud. I wish I could describe the feeling of warmth, joy and pride that I had and still have in Afrikaans, my language, when they announced South Africa as the successful bidder of the 2010 Soccer World Cup. I believe that God is on our side as South Africans. You did a great job and I know that you still have sleepless nights but see every difficulty as a challenge to prove to the world that we have arrived big time. When I saw on the news that the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium is almost ready, it was the confirmation that everything is on track.

You deserve a one year paid holiday after the world cup. I will have to speak to the next president of the country, Reverend Kenneth Meshoe, to see to it.

Bafana Bafana, now it is your time to shine. You showed us in 1996 that you are a force to recon with. Okay, there was a long and very worrying slump but you have restored our hope. Just play it game by game and put South Africa first. Well Rev Meshoe can't give you a years holiday when you win because the Premier Soccer League and FIFA will fight him tooth and nail, but I know that you will receive very big bonuses.

No pressure? Yes no pressure, can't help to dream. Just go out there and make us proud.
With the Confederations Cup coming up in a few months, you have the chance to play against the big guns of soccer. Use your opportunity well.

The only problem that I have with the 2010 soccer world cup is the fact that we as a nation asked God, on a big stadium, to give us favour with the bidding but never thanked Him in the same way when we were announced the winners. I hope we can correct that soon. South Africa will be blessed even more when we bless God.

Migraines

This morning as I watched Morning Live, a two hour news and actuality show, I just new that we are a nation to be reckoned with. When I switched on the TV, Leanne was talking to a professor about migraines and the breakthrough surgical procedure that is performed in South Africa. Apparently people are flying in from different continents to have this procedure done.

Let me do two possible ads.
1."South Africa, we take away your headaches. Book your flight now, you'll never take another headache tablet again."
2."Is your husband giving you a splitting headache, fly to the land of sea, sunshine, wildlife, luxury accommodation, friendly people and Evita's Party. We will take away your headache and give you a new husband. Men, you can have the same experience."

Hearts

Years back, when I was still a little boy we gave the world Doctor Chris Barnard, the heart surgeon. He performed the very first heart transplant in the Grootte Schuur Hospital in Cape Town.

What a breakthrough. It is still a mystery and a miracle to me. We thank God for giving us the wisdom and knowledge to be able to performs such wonders.

Need a new life? South Africa will not just give you a new life but also a new heart. Having joked about it, I can also see the spiritual significance of a new heart. So many times people would say you need a change of heart that it somehow lost its power. Forgive me, when I think about something I've got to say it. I'm no writer with a flow of ideas. I'm just Steven D, who sees and says.

People of the world, don't we all need a new heart? Are we not tired of wars, hatred and tyranny? Our hearts need to return to its Maker.

Rugby

Twice the world cup champions. The Springboks is our proud export. England, Australia, New Zeeland, France and others, do you envy us? Please don't answer me, I might regret asking that question.

Under the spell of the Madiba magic we won the world cup in 1995 and twelve years later we did it again. I know America and some other countries are not known for their rugby, but they've got other sporting codes that excel in.

So, if you are in one of those countries and you want to experience the rugby "gees" (spirit) than Newlands in Cape Town or Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria is the place to be.

Peter De Villiers, coach those boys, the next world cup is round the corner. You've got two years.

Cricket

Proteas (South African National Cricket Team) you made us proud. Why are the Aussies so quiet. We want you to come and visit our country and experience our hospitality but we're not sure how to offer that without a smirk. Please, we've got nothing against the Aussies, it is just on the cricket field that we know that we're encountering our biggest enemy.

When you visit South Africa for the second leg of the cricket tour, we will be on our best behaviour except when Ponting hits a six. Don't expect to hear any cheers when that happens. Off the sports field we will give you all our love.

It is the end of a great career: Patrick Viera has decided that 18 years spent largely on top of the game are enough. He will remain at Manchester City, his last team, in the role of football development executive.

He has now reached 35 years old and even if the best years were behind him when he moved to Etihad Stadium, the fans have loved him for the passion and application to the cause. He will be remembered as one of the best midfielders to have played in Premier League: يلا شوتwhen he was at Arsenal he was sensational and it is not a coincidence that the last trophy won by the Gunners was during last season.

Roberto Mancini knew that Patrick Viera was closed to retire, but he wanted to bring him in the team as he still have very strong leadership skills that are so important for a team that wants to mature to be one of the best. The Senegal-born star has an incredible 'winning's mentality' that was very easy to identify even at the beginning of his career. Mancini knows very well the difference that Viera can make: the italian tactician worked with Viera for three success-filled campaigns at Inter and when he signed him the French international had already won seven league titles, four FA Cups in addition to a World Cup, European Championship and Confederation Cup.

He didn't play much in this season, only started 12 Premier League matches in 18 months, but he did help also outside the pitch to inject the winning mentality: this has resulted in a fifth FA Cup triumph. Mancini did say that Viera was very committed in training and he wants to keep him as he will be a major asset to the club even after the end of his footballer career.

After the announcement that his playing contract wouldn't be renewed, Roberto Mancini was very quick to offer him a managerial job. The reaction of the fans was very positive and they showed delight that he will stick around. From the job profile it looks like that he won't have much involvement in the first team, who are priced 5.20 to with the Premier League. He will take active role in developing youngsters at Platt Lane complex, as a mentor.

Roberto Mancini has had a very busy summer as in addition to Patrick Viera as also Carlos Tevez is set to leave the club. Tevez wanted to leave to get closer to his family however Corinthians transfer proved to be difficult as the Brazilian club didn't had funds to pay for the Argentinean. Tevez has always been a problem for Roberto Mancini but he still won't be necessarily happy to sell his captain.

Ein bisschen Geschichte-

Seit vielen, vielen Jahren ist bekannt, dass die Farbe eines Diamanten "verbessert" werden kann, indem man ein wenig farbige Substanz auf die Oberfläche eines Diamanten aufträgt und wie durch Zauberei ... ein Diamant, der eine auffällige gelbliche Farbe hat, sich zu ändern würde ein attraktiverer nahezu farbloser Diamant. Leider kann diese Art von farbverstärktem Diamanten wieder seine ursprüngliche Körperfarbe annehmen, wenn diese farbige Substanz unbeabsichtigt entfernt wird.

In den letzten Jahren hat sich die Technologie der farbverstärkten Diamanten zu einem extremen Hightech entwickelt. Es ist jetzt möglich, die Farbe eines Diamanten vollständig zu ändern! Diese Prozesse gelten als dauerhaft, da sie unter alltäglichen normalen Bedingungen stabil bleiben. Die Farbe verblasst nicht, wenn sie Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt oder durch aggressive Chemikalien abgewaschen wird.

Wie wird es gemacht?

Das gewünschte Ergebnis jeder dieser Behandlungen ist es, einen marktfähigeren Diamanten zu haben. Ein weniger marktfähiger Diamant wäre ein Diamant, der eine geringe Körperfarbe oder manchmal eine geringere Reinheit aufweist. Die Unternehmen für die Behandlung von farbverbesserten Diamanten wissen, dass sie am Ende eine bestimmte Farbe haben sollten, wenn sie mit einer bestimmten Art von Diamant beginnen und ihn für eine bestimmte Zeit verarbeiten, aber das funktioniert nicht immer so. General Electric hat einen Prozess entwickelt, der so ziemlich eine mechanische Simulation der Entstehung eines Diamanten in der Natur ist. Der farbverstärkte Diamant wird unter einem sehr hohen, stabilisierten Druck auf eine sehr hohe Temperatur erhitzt. Fehler in der Kristallstruktur werden dann neu angeordnet, was zu einer Veränderung der Farbe des Diamanten führt.

Da die HPHT-Bedingungen denen der ursprünglichen Entstehung von Diamanten sehr ähnlich sind, kann nur ein gut ausgestattetes Labor diese Art von farbverstärktem Diamant eindeutig identifizieren. HPHT wurde zuerst verwendet, um gelbliche Diamanten in marktgängigere, farbig verbesserte Diamanten zu verwandeln, aber jetzt wird es auch verwendet, um einige unbeliebte bräunliche Diamanten in wünschenswertere, farblose, gefärbte, verbesserte Diamanten umzuwandeln.

Prozess Nr. 2 - Bestrahlte farbverstärkte Diamanten - OK ... fangen Sie nicht an, sich aufzuregen, weil Sie das Wort "bestrahlt" gesehen haben! Dies ist ein 100 % sicheres Verfahren, das dem sehr ähnlich ist, was verwendet wird, um Lebensmittel zu konservieren, indem sie einem Strom von Gammastrahlen ausgesetzt werden. Der farbverstärkte Diamantprozess wird auf verschiedene Arten durchgeführt, aber die Ergebnisse sind alle gleich. Sie beginnen mit einem 100% natürlichen Diamanten niedriger Farbe (P, Q, R usw.), der bereits geschliffen und poliert wurde, und dann einem Strom schneller Elektronen ausgesetzt. Prozess Nr. 3 – Beschichtete farbverbesserte Diamanten – Die Beschichtung auf polierten Diamanten bezieht sich auf eine dünne künstliche Schicht, die die Farbe des Diamanten verändert. Die Beschichtung kann entweder die gewünschte Farbe haben oder einen farbigen Interferenzeffekt bewirken. Leider wird dieser Vorgang manchmal durchgeführt, um einen Käufer zu täuschen. Es ist ein relativ einfach durchzuführendes Verfahren, es gibt es seit vielen Jahren (obwohl die Beschichtungsmaterialien jetzt viel besser sind) und es erfordert nicht viele teure High-Tech-Geräte. Kürzlich habe ich einige rosa beschichtete Diamanten auf dem Markt gesehen, sie sind sehr attraktiv ... und natürlich müssten Sie sie in dem Wissen kaufen, dass sie beschichtet sind, und die Richtlinien Ihres Juweliers über den Besitz und die Pflege dieser farbverbesserten Diamanten befolgen Diamanten.

Die Beschichtung kann auf die gesamte Oberfläche eines Diamanten aufgetragen werden, nur auf die Unterseite des Diamanten oder auf eine schmale Zone in der Nähe der Rundiste. Eine gut aufgetragene Beschichtung kann die Farbe um einen oder mehrere Farbgrade verändern. Einige Beschichtungen können durch Kochen in Säure, starken Reinigungslösungen oder sogar Haushaltschemikalien entfernt werden. Manchmal werden Punkte oder größere Bereiche mit violetter oder blauer Tinte auf den Diamanten gemalt, um einer gelblichen Farbe entgegenzuwirken. Die Fassung des Diamanten bedeckt normalerweise die Punkte, sodass sie in einem gefassten Stein schwer zu erkennen sind.

Ist ein farbverstärkter Diamant das Richtige für Sie?

Vielleicht... natürliche Farbdiamanten können schön sein, aber sie sind teuer! Farbverstärkte Diamanten sind erschwinglich und ermöglichen es vielen Menschen, einen leuchtend farbigen Diamanten zu besitzen. Fragen Sie Ihren örtlichen Juwelier, ob er Fancy-Diamanten hat ... entweder natürliche oder farbverstärkte Diamanten. Es ist immer interessant und macht Spaß, etwas anderes zu sehen!

Bei normaler Abnutzung haben die bestrahlten und HPHT-farbverbesserten Diamanten keine Probleme mit dem Verblassen der Farbe. Die einzige Überlegung wird sein, wenn Sie irgendeine Art von Service an dem Schmuckstück durchführen lassen müssen. Wenn diese Art von farbverstärktem Diamant übermäßiger Hitze ausgesetzt wird, kann dies die Farbe beeinträchtigen. Der Juwelier muss wissen, dass es sich bei dem Diamanten um einen farbverstärkten Diamanten handelt, bevor er irgendwelche Arbeiten durchführt, und dann kann der Juwelier über die beste Vorgehensweise entscheiden. Farbverstärkte Diamanten werden jetzt auch als kleine Akzentdiamanten um einen größeren farblosen Diamanten herum verwendet. Es gibt viele aufregende Schmuckstücke mit kleinen blauen, gelben, schwarzen oder grünen Diamanten.

Bevor Sie die Unterschiede zwischen Mineralien, Kristallen und Steinen erklären, müssen Sie den Unterschied zwischen einem Element und einer Verbindung kennen.

Was ist ein Element?
