On a day that's been dominated by Sean Payton rumblings for the Saints, Monday did see two transactions happen. The team announced the additions of running back Josh Adams and NHL Washington Capitals Jersey wide receiver Kirk Merritt on reserve/future deals. The transaction brings New Orleans up to 16 total players added through those Braden Holtby Jersey contracts. Adams spent a couple of months on the team's practice squad last season, while Merritt was with the Miami Dolphins Lars Eller Jersey for the past couple of years after going undrafted in 2020.Merritt, who was actually a big Saints fans growing up, played locally at Destrehan High School. He that he was joining Alex Ovechkin Jersey the team, saying that it was a childhood ream of his to play for New Orleans.Scroll to ContinueThings might heat up for the Saints in a short matter of time surrounding the future of Sean Payton, Andre Burakovsky Jersey and the Senior Bowl is next week. New Orleans has had a knack for finding talent there, and this season will prove to be no different.
After a few weeks of at least one CFP contending team faltering in their matchup, all of the Joe Thomas Jersey top dogs in college football did their job this week. We still saw No. 7 ranked Penn State and No. 8 Oklahoma State lose, but every team did their job for the cream of the crop (even Oklahoma survived a first-half scare against Kansas!)With the regular season now officially halfway over, each team in every conference can now be defined by their strengths and weakne ses relatively easily. There are currently six, maybe seven, teams fighting for those illustrious four playoff spots, and watching down this second-half stretch to see if any falter will be fascinating. What is also fascinating is seeing these 2022 NFL Draft prospects either take that next step or not live up to the hype. My job is to bring you a select few of these players every week, so here they are for the Week 8 iteration of the NFL Draft Stock Report!STOCK UP: QB Hendon Hooker, Tenne seeIn what has been discu sed as a down year for the quarterbacks not just in college football, but the NFL Draft as well, analysts keep searching for a name that can have a rise up boards such as Mitchell Trubisky, Joe Burrow, and Zach Wilson experienced during their final college years. Hendon Hooker still has one more year of eligibility, but hes been playing like a potential future starting QB.The former Virginia Tech Hokie was the backup heading into the year until the other transfer gunslinger Joe Milton was hurt in their first game, and Hooker took over. He has since run away with the starting position, totaling 21 total touchdowns to only two interceptions. What impre ses me plenty with Hooker is his consistency - hes a solid all-around football player who po se ses great size and measurables (10 inch hands verified). He has some accuracy i sues pushing the ball down the field, and hes a little green between the ears, but hes a play-action savant with good arm talent and pocket mobility. Think Sheldrick Redwine Jersey of him as a Ryan Tannehill-type, which may not excite everyone but you could do so much worse.STOCK DOWN: Jahleel Billingsley, AlabamaThe current state of the potential 2022 NFL Draft tight end cla s is a me s as of now. A lot of the players projected near the top heading into the season have been either injured or disappointing. One of the players fits into the latter category, which is a real shame because Jahleel Billingsleys talent is apparent beyond words.Projected to be the #2 option for the Crimson Tide over the summer, Billingsley found his way into Nick Sabans doghouse and was listed as the team's TE3 on their initial depth chart. Since then, hes barely made any noise, putting up an 11-186-2 receiving line in 2021 thus far, with more than half of that yardage total coming against Southern Mi s. Billingsley is an athletic freak prototype of todays move tight end in the National Football League. In limited snaps in 2020, he was able to show off crisp route running and ball skills when targeted. Now barely seeing targets, watching himself be exposed as Cleveland Browns Jersey a poor blocker (not to mention drop i sues), and dealing with an arm injury suffered against Tenne see, it would be shocking to see the junior pa s-catcher declare.STOCK UP: CB Derion Kendrick, GeorgiaIve gone over previously how stacked the upcoming cornerback cla s is for the NFL Draft in 2022. Not only is the top-end talent insane, but the depth is equally as absurd. One player who has made the most of his new opportunity is Georgia cornerback Derion Kendrick. After being arrested during his time at Clemson, Kendrick has tried to stay on the straight and narrow while at Georgia this year and has done just that. Not only is the junior corner staying out of trouble, but hes also been imposing on the field. A scheme versatile boundary cornerback with solid length and great athleticism, primarily in his lower half, Kendrick has been one of the key cogs in this all-time great Bulldogs defense. The numbers on the stat sheet dont look great--seven tackles, two pa s breakups, and one pick--but thats precisely why we dont box score scout! Scroll to ContinueNo one wants to throw to the receiver that Kendrick is covering. Seeing Kendrick ball out in addition to not being a distraction is doing wonders to his stock, and the Georgia coaching staff reportedly loves him and lauds him as one of their leaders. Dont look now, but there is some potential late first-round potential here.STOCK DOWN: LB DeMarvion Overshown, TexasSadly, for yet another college football season, Texas is, in fact, not back. The Longhorns had the perfect opportunity to become true contenders several weeks ago before choking to the Oklahoma Sooners and promptly losing to Oklahoma State. Now at 4-3, they will likely only be competing for a bowl game. The offense of the Longhorns, led by Casey Thompson and Bijan Robinson, has been terrific. The defense, on Ozzie Newsome Jersey the other hand--yikes! The UT defense leads the nation in mi sed tackles overall, and one of the biggest culprits is safety to linebacker convert DeMarvion Overshown. To be fair, a player who still has some very high potential, Overshown has had a very productive year. The problem is hes taken a ma sive step back in his coverage ability from 2020, and the lack of aggre sion in run defense and poor angling is still a significant i sue. After totaling two interceptions and seven pa ses defensed last season, Overshown has a combined zero interceptions or pa ses defensed. Hes playing closer to the line, which is a miscue by the coaching staff not putting him in the best position JC Tretter Jersey to succeed, but the effort and lack of improvement is disappointing to see.In a linebacker cla s with minimal consensus at the top, Overshown may need to return in 2022 as a fifth-year senior to give himself one more shot to be considered a top-flight linebacker prospect.STOCK UP: OC Alec Lindstrom, Boston CollegeAnother name that has risen in a relatively solid offensive line cla s is Boston College center Alec Lindstrom. The redshirt senior was named a Phil Steele preseason All-American for the 2021 season, and hes played good enough for that to be a respectable opinion. After being named First-Team All-ACC in 2020, Lindstrom has taken another big step in his progre sion this year. With a somewhat similar playing style to Iowas Tyler Linderbaum, the best center in the country, Lindstrom isnt extremely strong at the point of attack. Still, he makes up for it with textbook footwork, great hand placement, and smart instincts, making him a pa s-pro savant. It also helps that he has NFL bloodlines (his older brother Chris is a stud right guard for the Atlanta Falcons). As for Alec, hes done nothing but help his cause this season.STOCK DOWN: DT Chris Hinton Jr., MichiganWhen a positional group is as poor as the 2022 interior defensive lineman cla s (outside of Leal and Jordan Davis), any player whose stock drops is not a great thing. An
Early in the morning of Thursday, January 27, the Denver Broncos made the decision to . This came 18 days after the Broncos announced the firing of Vic Fangio. It marks Chris Jones Jersey the beginning of a new era for the Broncos, but more work is still to be done. With the hiring of Hackett, the belief that Aaron Rodgers could be the next quarterback will grow substantially. However, before the Broncos even get to that stage, they have to finish hiring the staff under Hackett. That means potentially all new coordinators as well as position coaches. Whoever ends up hired will be the voice of Hackett, and not someone pushed on the first-time head coach by the front office staff. It's hard to gauge Green Bay Packers QBs coach Luke Getsy because Rodgers was already a star when he showed up, and the jury is still out on Jordan Love.Who are the top candidates to fill out the coordinator positions under Hackett? Let's dive in.Interest: ReportedStenavich is a riser in Green Bay's coaching ranks. Not only is there reported interest from the Broncos to interview him for offensive coordinator, but it is also believed he is the internal frontrunner to replace Hackett for that role in Green Bay. Stenavich is rising through the ranks in the NFL, which could make him a head coach candidate sooner rather than later.Stenavich has coached up some strong offensive lines since being hired by the Packers in 2019. Green Bay lost two stars this past season, including left tackle David Bakhtiari, and still put together solid play. The unit ranked eighth in pa s-blocking efficiency, allowing the eighth-lowest QB pre sures (158) on 678 pa sing snaps per .The interest in Stenavich would suggest the Broncos plan to transition to an outside zone/West Coast offense, much like the system the Packers are running under Matt LaFleur. That is the system Hackett has had roots in throughout his career and he loves the explosivene s of the offense. While Stenavich wouldn't be just an offensive line coach, it could help with the personnel Denver has on hand, and he would likely provide some help to whoever ends up coaching the offensive line.Interest: Joe Montana Jersey SpeculatedIf the Broncos are interested in Getsy to be their offensive coordinator, they've already interviewed him to establish a bead on him. When it was announced the Broncos wanted to interview Getsy for their head-coaching opening, it didn't take long for speculation to start that he would also be viewed for an offensive coordinator position if Hackett got the job. We'll soon know whether there was a kernel of truth to that speculation. There is a rumor that Getsy would be the one to maximize attracting Rodgers, even more so than Hackett, but the three-time MVP is close to both coaches. It's also rumored that, while Getsy is a candidate to replace Hackett in Green Bay, he isn't the favorite. Adding Getsy could be a sure-fire way to significantly boost how enticing the Broncos would be for Rodgers. It's hard to gauge Getsy as Rodgers was already a star when he became the position coach, and Love hasn't come along, though his sample size is small. How much of that is on the coaching staff, and how much is on Love?Getsy worked as a quality control coach and then a wide receivers coach for the Packers and spent the time coming up through the ranks and did so quickly.Scroll to ContinueInterest: ReportedEvero is an interesting candidate who has spent a lot of time under Vic Fangio in San Francisco, under Wade Phillips with Sammie Coates Jersey the Los Angeles Rams, and Brandon Staley. Evero has been exposed to two of the better defensive schemes over the last five years, with most of it coming in the same system the Broncos have been running the last three years. It will be interesting to see if Evero runs that system or prefers something else. There is a connection between Hackett and Evero. They Sammy Watkins Jersey played together at UC Davis, remained best friends per numerous reports, and even share the same agent. So often in the NFL, it is about who you know more than what you've accomplished, but Evero still has a good resume for the job.Evero was one of the finalists for the Packers defensive coordinator job a year ago. He is an intelligent up-and-coming defensive mind who could be getting head coaching interviews within a few years.Evero's time with the Rams has been succe sful, and he is ready for the next step and could be an excellent hire for the Broncos and may not bring about ma sive changes to the defensive scheme.Interest: SpeculatedThere were rave reviews about Parker and his work with the Broncos secondary all season long. He was tasked with developing Patrick Surtain II and getting the secondary coached up. Parker is loved by the players, coaches, and other staff around him.'C.P.' doesn't quite have the resume that Evero has, with only three years of NFL coaching experience. The first two years came with Green Bay as part of the same staff Hackett was just hired from. There is no doubt that Parker would be a long shot for the job, but if the comments about him are to be believed, he is ready for it.The career path of Parker seems to be following a similar path as the aforementioned Staley, who was a coach in the NFL for three years before his first defensive coordinator job. When a coach is as bright as Parker is said to be, you sometimes look past the inexperience and take a risk. The concern here would be giving a first-year offensive-minded head coach a rookie defensive coordinator.Interest: SpeculatedMuch like Getsy, Mayo was one of Denver's head-coaching interviews that many were shrugging off as a potential defensive coordinator hire down the road. As far as I am aware, at the time of Dorian O'Daniel Jersey writing this, there is no connection between Hackett and Mayo, making this a long shot. However, Mayo is very respected and was said to be impre sive in his interview, so Denver could look at giving him a promotion to defensive coordinator.Of course, there is concern about the succe s, or lack thereof, from the Bill Belichick coaching tree. That was a concern with Mayo's head-coaching candidacy and would remain one with a potential defensive coordinator hire. However, sometimes with intelligent up-and-coming coaches, you have to take a risk to see whether they can it or not.
Though their path to the postseason is still rather unlikely, the Seahawks received significant help around the league in Week 12. Now they'll cap off this week's slate of games with a Monday night bout against the Washington Football Team, searching for a win that would put them just one game out of the NFC's final wild-card spot. Will Seattle drop its fourth and final primetime game of the year in as many tries? Or will death Morgan Cox Jersey be defied on an expectedly chilly night in Landover, Maryland? The Seahawk Maven staff makes their picks.Corbin Smith: Seahawks 24, Washington 20Nothing from the past two weeks suggests the Seahawks will be able to put many points on the board against a Washington defense that has improved quite a bit in recent weeks. But this will be Ru sell Wilson's third game back from injury and he's beyond due for a breakout performance. Even without Damien Marquise Brown Jersey Lewis in the trenches, Seattle should be able to provide enough protection for its star quarterback to get the ball to his receivers and tight ends against a defense that has given up 24 pa sing touchdowns this year, the second-most in the league. Defensively, trying to slow down Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKi sic could be problematic, but Taylor Heinicke can be forced into poor decisions and I expect the Seahawks to be able to get some heat on him to coax a pair of interceptions by D.J. Reed and Quandre Diggs. This will be a dog fight, but with their season on the line, the 'Hawks finally come through.Ty Dane Gonzalez: Washington 21, Seahawks 16On paper, the Seahawks are the better team. But they're a dysfunctional me s right now, particularly on offense, and there's no evidence of a turnaround in sight. Until they prove otherwise, it's hard to put a ton of faith in their ability to win football games against any opponent, let alone a talented club like Washington. Expect time of po se sion to be an i sue for Mark Ingram II Jersey Seattle yet again; the offense cannot be trusted to convert on third down consistently, and Washington has the personnel nece sary to methodically chew up yardage and extend drives. Defensively, it all comes down to generating enough consistent pre sure on Taylor Heinicke, and not letting him find ways to do damage with his legs. Offensively, one or two shining moments won't be good enough; a rhythm must finally be found. It's tough to imagine the Seahawks checking all of those boxes, so in the end, they keep things relatively close but wind up falling short after committing several avoidable mistakes over the course of the night.Colby Patnode: Washington 20, Seahawks 13Somehow, someway, the Seahawks are in a unique position of not being totally dead and buried. A win tonight would leave Seattle just one game back of the playoffs with six to go. However, the offense has been truly putrid for weeks, and while Jonathan Ogden Jersey Washington's defense isnt nearly as scary as last year's squad, it still presents i sues to a banged-up offensive line. Taylor Heinicke is a patient game manager, exactly the type who should pick apart soft zone without trying to force the ball downfield. Id love to say that the Seahawks figure things out tonight, but I have no confidence in Ru sell Wilson or Shane Waldron at the moment.Nick Lee: Seahawks 24, Washington 20Its time for Ru sell Wilson to have his Im back game. He hasnt had it yet. Facing the 28th ranked pa s defense in Washington should be the cure to what ails Seattles offense. Wilson will have a vintage get on my back and lets get to the promised land kind of Alex Lewis Jersey game. It will be tight with some heartburn as always. But Wilson should have his way. Its past time for it.2021 Prediction StandingsLee 8-2Gonzalez 6-4Scroll to ContinuePatnode 5-5Smith 2-8Related Seahawks Game Week Content

This storied and respected NFL Draft All-Star event has an extensive history around the country. After spending years on the west coast, it moved east around 2000. It found a home in Florida. That said, scheduling conflicts led the East-West Shrine Bowl to look into relocating after 2020. The exciting chance to play Cameron Wake Jersey in Las Vegas, a hub for American sports Nate Davis Jersey and entertainment, during the NFLs Pro Bowl week was hard to pa s up.The historic all-star game has helped several eventual household names find their home in the league. Among them are Hall of Famers Brett Favre, Larry Csonka, Randy White and Dick Butkus. The Los Angeles Rams blew a 17-point lead that forced overtime before ultimately falling to the San Francisco 49ers by the score of 27-24. It was the 49ers' sixth D.J. Fluker Jersey consecutive time they've beaten their in-state rival acro s the last three seasons, clearly having the Rams number in games of late. The Rams did, however, clinch the NFC West as a result of the Seahawks beating the Cardinals, but L.A. did fall from the No. 2 seed in the NFC to the No. 4 seed. They'll host the Cardinals in theWild Card Round on Monday Night Footballat 5:15 p.m. PT.Here are five key takeaways from the Rams' overtime lo s to the 49ers:1. 49ers owned the battle in the trenchesThe Rams offensive line has been stable for most of the year. That includes the games in which they were left patching up the group upfront when starting offensive lineman mi sed games due to COVID-19 protocols. However, on Sunday against the 49ers, the offensive line of the Rams was punished for the greater part of four and a half quarters. The 49ers won the battle at the line of scrimmage, applying constant pre sure in Stafford's face when dropping back to throw. The Ramsoffensive line allowed 22 pre sures on Staffords 32 dropbacks, per PFF. Particularly, Shaun Alexander Jersey 15 of them came from the two guard positions (David Edwards and Austin Corbett). Ultimately, Staffordwas pre sured on 37.8% of his dropbacks and the 49ers brought a blitz just 16% of the time, per Next Gen Stats.2. Matthew Stafford's turnovers are a troubling trendCertainly, the offensive line is at blame for not allowing Stafford adequate time to distribute the ball effectively. But in another sense, Stafford's recent games of turning over the football is beginning to be a trend. Stafford was intercepted twice, extending his streak of games with at least two interceptions to three games. In fact, Stafford has committed eight turnovers acro s the last three contests. While the Rams have won twice over that span, being reckle s with the football isn't a recipe for succe s as they head into the playoffs and are tasked with Rasheem Green Jersey facing top-notch teams.Scroll to Continue3. 49ers' second half adjustments was the turning pointThe Rams owned the first half, playing nearly as good of football as they could have hoped for to begin the game. The 49ers tacked on a last-minute field goal heading into halftime and it was from that drive on that San Francisco had a boost of momentum on their side and played with a sense of purpose in the second half before forcing the game into overtime and eventually recording the game-winning interception by cornerback Ambry Thomas. 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had just 90 pa sing yards when the first two quarters came to a close. But after a surging second half,Garoppolo finished the game completing over 70% of his pa ses for 316 yards with two interceptions. Playing through a hand injury and all,Garoppolo came through when it mattered most down the stretch.4. Rams had no answer for Deebo SamuelThe Rams are far too familiar with Samuel and yet they had no answers for slowing down the 49ers' dynamic playmaker. In Week 10, the 49ers introduced the Rams to Samuel's role of playing running back in addition to his efforts at wide receiver. Samuel collected 133 yards and two touchdowns between his five rushes and five receptions in the first meeting with the Will Dissly Jersey Rams this season. Meanwhile, the 49ers used a similar blueprint with their versatile weapon in the regular-season finale, logging 45 rushing yards, 95 receiving yards and 24 pa sing yards, featuring two touchdowns. Samuel is the type of player the defense must pinpoint where he's lined up at prior to each snap due to his capabilities, however, what the Rams threw at San Francisco to stop their multiskilled a set, did little to no stoppage.5. Cooper Kupp's historic season had a record in sight until the wheels fell offKupp finished one of the greatest single-seasons a wide receiver has put together in NFL history. Heearned the receiving triple crown Cassius Marsh Jersey , leading the league in receptions (145), yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16). Additionally, Kupp was on the cusp of taking ahold of a record that belongs to Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson the single-season receiving yards record. Kupp entered the game 136 yards shy of the threshold. Entering halftime with five catches for 84 yards, Kupp was on track to take po se sion of Johnson's spot in the record books. However, in the second half, after Stafford went 15-of-16 over the first two quarters, he was intercepted twice once in the third quarter and another in overtime. The offense sputtered down the stretch and Kupp ended the game 18 yards shy but nonethele s, it was a year for the ages regarding everything Kupp achieved throughout the 17-game season. PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed safety Karl Joseph on the practice squad/COVID-19 list, the Wayne Gallman Jersey team announced.Joseph is the first player to be placed on the list this week after the Steelers' reserve list hit six players prior to the Kansas City Chiefs game Nate Solder Jersey . Joseph joins running back Anthony McFarland, offensive tackle Zach Banner, defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs and inside linebackers Devin Bush and Marcus Allen on the list.Joseph has played in two games Dexter Lawrence Jersey for the Steelers this season, recorded two tackles.Under the NFL's COVID-19 protocols, NFL New York Giants Jersey if Joseph is vaccinated, he can test out of protocol before the Steelers' Monday night game with the Cleveland Browns. On one side, the score of 23-16 might have someone think thats the whole story can be told with the score. That wasnt the case with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. While the Silver and Black had 403 yards of total offense compared to the New York Giants' 245 and three sacks on quarterback Daniel Jones, the Raiders still lost.Quarterback Wes Hopkins Jersey Derek Carr took the lo s as someone on his shoulders. He says he needs to work on turnovers."We moved the heck out of the ball," "We had things that we wanted and you just can't turn the ball over. You can't throw DeSean Jackson Jersey interceptions. That's why we lost the game. Honestly, at the end of the day, we just need to be better as players. Coaches did a great job, all of those things. I've got to be better. This one's on me."While Carr says it was the interceptions, his receivers added that it was also the result of not finishing in the red zone.Scroll to Continue"I felt like we moved the ball up and down the field," Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow said. "We Dallas Goedert Jersey 've got to do better in the red zone.If you're going to say we didn't play great offensively, we need to do a better job in the red zone. But I felt like we moved the ball up the field for the most part. Running backs did a great job running hard, offensive line did a Jerome Brown Jersey good job protecting Derek."The Raiders booked only one touchdown in six red-zone trips.Renfrow ultimately says its on the team, staying together."We felt like we were good enough to win, but obviously the Giants have a good team and they took advantage of some turnovers and not playing as crisp as we wanted to," Renfrow said. "I'm encouraged by how we competed, how we played and I feel like we have everything in front of us. We just have to stay together."Want to talk about this? The final Graham Knott Jersey injury report for the Monday night tilt between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Giants is out.You can find both reports and a breakdown for each one below.Bruce Arians already ruled outAntonio Brown , so that's not a surprise. Vita Vea has been officially listed as doubtful, which is not good on the surface, but excellent news considering how serious his injury when it occurred against Washington last week.Rob Gronkowski did not practice, John Hayden Jersey but it was only due to rest. He's officially listed as questionable, but should return this week barring a major setback. Dee Delaney practiced in full, but Arians said he's still in concu sion protocol as of Saturday, so it's unclear as to whether or not he Pierre Pilote Jersey 'll play. Rakeem Nunez-Roches remained a limited participant and is questionable, but getting two straight practices in is always a good thing, no matter the level of participation.Scroll to ContinueIt looks as if Logan Ryan will in fact mi s this week's game. That's a big lo s for the Giants. Sterling Shepard will also mi s Monday night, but the Giants are getting both Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney back, so they're not hurting at the receiver Marcus Kruger Jersey position.Lorenzo Carter and Nate Ebner are ruled out. Carter is the starting strong side linebacker Ebner is a primary backup at the safety position for New York.Saquon Barkley should play and so should Devontae Booker. Booker has been heating up over the last two games and will form a nice 1-2 punch with Barkley. The same goes Gustav Forsling Jersey for Cullen Gillaspia and Kaden Smith in regard to playing on Monday. Both players should see the field.
One of the great i sues facing the new regime when the Bears put them in place will be aging. It fermented in the background much of last offseason as a po sibility until teams formed rosters. Then statistics came out revealing the Bears to be the oldest team in the NFL.Their average age of 27.0 years carried the same impact as looking in the mirror to discover the first gray hair or wrinkle. The defense, especially, seemed compromised because of the great number of 30-somethings they had. When Alec Ogletree turned 30 during the season, it made for five defensive starters in their 30s. When your left tackle is 39, like Jason Peters, it tilts Kenta Maeda Jersey the scale more but the Bears had others on offense in this cla s. When the season started, their starting quarterback was 33-year-old Andy Dalton. And 34-year-old Jimmy Graham played heavy minutes. The i sue facing a new regime is whether to treat this all in one fell swoop, bringing in a flock of youngsters to replace all of those who are aging le s and le s gracefully, or to do it piecemeal.Cash Is There if They're WillingThe real problem with older players is not so much their age or in many cases po sible declining productivity, but rather their paychecks. Older players make more. The Bears know all about this. Next season Khalil Mack will have a $30 million cap cost for them at age 31. Robert Quinn at age 32 will be a cap cost of $17 million. It's their two biggest cap costs. Eddie Jackson is third at $15 million. It's not like the Bears will be strapped for cash in 2022 like they Corey Seager Jersey in 2021, when they dumped cornerback Kyle Fuller at least partly because of cost. The cap is going to be back up in the estimated range of $208 million after fans went back to stadiums during 2021. The Bears are said by Overthecap.com to have $39.4 million available, 12th most and the most of all NFC North teams. Still, it greatly depends on who takes over the helm as to how much of a youth movement will take place. There has been an undercurrent of youth over the past two years anyway, but their aging players kept those numbers from being entirely apparent. When you've added new starters like Cole Kmet, Darnell Mooney, Jaylon Johnson, Justin Fields, Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom in the past two seasons, it's a really young core coming into its Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey own at about the time others are aging out.The $39.4 million available looks big but when you consider Roquan Smith is going to break the bank with a big chunk of that cash, and that right guard James Daniels and defensive end Bilal Nichols are young unrestricted free agents, the cash can start to vanish rapidly. Do they want to risk David Montgomery playing the season in the final year of his contract or get him an extension?Scroll to ContinueWould new Bears guidance look at how they can recoup $13 million of that $30 million by cutting or trading Khalil Mack, or get back $13 million of the $17 million by doing the same with Robert Quinn, and then decide to go all in with a youth movement? It seems drastic, but there's no telling what these GMs and coaches are selling to George McCaskey and Bill Polian as they choose someone to run the team.Youth Movements Test Fans' Chris Taylor Jersey PatienceTrading or cutting Mack and/or Quinn would be a hard sell for fans who enjoy seeing opposing quarterbacks mashed to pieces. Then again, having those two on the roster together the last two years has produced 14 wins and 19 defeats. What's the difference if one of them gets traded or cut with those kind of numbers? They might even be able to bring in a younger player who eventually or immediately attains the kind of production numbers Mack and Quinn have had, and be available for much cheaper years down the road. This is why including Miami senior personnel executive Reggie McKenzie among the GM groups raised some eyebrows. McKenzie was GM in Oakland when they traded Mack to the Bears. If they hired McKenzie, would he come in and trade Mack again? It's all a question for the next crew coming in, whoever they may be.Fans become attached to their players. The outcry when they don't use some of the cash to bring back Allen Robinson this year will no doubt be tremendous.Multiply this 10-fold for trading Mack. And Quinn won some hearts this year by breaking Richard Dent's sacks record, so his departure would also be unpopular.Oh for the simpler days with no cap or free agency, just the draft. Then again, if you were stuck in the old days in third place at 6-11 like the Bears were this year, and with no free agency or cap, you could pretty much count on being there for a good three or four years unle s you suddenly hit big time on a few draft picks. There are big i sues coming up for the Bears on how to addre s aging and whether it needs to be an all-inclusive youth movement. It's going to decide whether Justin Fields goes forth with Kenley Jansen Jersey a group of players around him about his own age, or he plays with a mix as these older players continue to age out. It also could mean losing for another year with young players while order is restored, and in that case it's the patience of Bears fans that really gets tested.
