It was some years ago that Google introduced a fun little Easter egg to Chrome: if your internet connection went down while you were trying to browse a web page, you'd get a notice saying "Unable to connect to the Internet" or "No internet" with a little pixilated dinosaur next to it.
Many folks were undoubtedly under the impression that the dinosaur was merely a nice little symbol to keep them company while their internet connection was offline for maintenance. But then someone pushed the space bar on their keyboard. And the dinosaur took off sprinting.
This small Easter egg has grown into a much-loved game among gamers. If you merely want to play it (be cautious, it's addicting) while you're online and need to take a break, you may do so. You'll discover how to play the game while connected to the internet in this page.
Instructions on how to play the dinosaur game
If your internet connection is down, just open Chrome. Alternatively, if you're already in Chrome, try visiting any website. You'll notice that the error message has a small dinosaur next to it.
Simply using the space bar (or the up arrow) will cause the dinosaur to begin running. To hop over obstacles (such as cactus) in your path, use the up arrow on your keyboard. The longer you keep your finger on the up arrow, the higher the dino will leap.
The down arrow should be used if you need to dip below anything.
The longer you play, the quicker the dino runs and the faster the ground slides on the screen. In the event that you crash into anything, the game is finished and you must start again (your score resets, too). By using the space bar, you may start the game again.
Excellent, you now have something to do while you wait for your internet connection to be restored. But what if you want to play it when you're connected to the internet? There are many options for doing this.
Bonus: There is even another method to locate the game.
It's possible that you didn't see the dino error message because your internet was down. Alternatively, you may not want to intentionally switch off your WiFi in order to play the game.
