And yeah, I'll definitely agree that NBA/2k rarely innovate, but does FM/Sega either, it's not like they invent the lightbulb every year, and that's the problem with series which have more or less no competition/monopoly, since they don't NEED to enhance, since they know people will just buy their game . Same goes to Fifa, NBA, FM, PCM, Madden matches, CoD and the list goes on.
I am just as big of a fan as FM as you clearly are, but if you think FM/Sega is cheap nba 2k21 mt reinventing the wheel each year you're only intentionally lying to yourself:P The matter that actually DOES alter every year however is a upgraded transfer/database, that is very often updated from the community anyway, so you can live without it. Today, perhaps every 3-4 year there is a brand new thing into the game that's well worth mentioning, make it better control over tactics, or better 3d matches etc.. And sure, then it might actually be super worth picking up a fresh variant of it. I won't deny that. But it certainly is not something one NEEDS to purchase every year. BUT, I also know that, as someone posted XQC stating, is that sports fan are super fanatic about their games/series, or I guess one could call it passionate, and considering FM is a cult series, there are clearly going to be people out there that believe I'm really calling FM a lousy match or shitting on it, which I'm not, far from it. Have many a million of hours in that series from the days it had been known as ChamMan.
They basically finished the genre with dynamic reputation. The one thing missing is lively youth level and the other nation specific attributes. They wont present anything new anymore, they just need to flesh out the features in the game that are rather barebone. They get sold garbage and they do not care cause it's the new roll changes or whatever. Why don't they just make F2P sports games with microtransactions?
