People who are allergic to Subutex or any other medication containing active Buprenorphine or have used another opioid pain killer in the past 4 hours should not practice this medication.
Pregnant ladies should not use Subutex during their pregnancy as practicing this medication during pregnancy might cause drug dependence in the baby. This can lead to life-threatening withdrawal symptoms and require several weeks of medical treatment.
Long term regular use of Subutex or any other opioids might cause dependence. A sudden lowering or stopping of the Subutex dosage might cause higher risks of having withdrawal symptoms. Thus the patients should talk to the doctor before lowering the dose or stop using Subutex.
