Indications and Usage
Soma is useful for the relief of discomfort and pain associated with acute musculoskeletal injuries such as strain or sprain.
It is an oral medication recommended only for adults.
You should use soma only for a short duration of time (up to three weeks). The main reasons behind soma being a short-term use medication are:
No evidence shows the effectiveness of carisoprodol in a long duration use.
Soma is habit-forming and may cause risks of abuse and addiction when used for a long time.

Dosage and Administration
The recommended daily **soma dosage is 350 mg or 500 mg pill taken three times a day and once before going to bed.
Soma pills are for oral administration, so you should take them by mouth without crushing or breaking the tablets.

Soma 350mg: they are round-shaped, convex tablets that come in white color having an indent in the middle, and an imprint of “SOMA 350”.

Drug Interactions
There can be sedative soma effects; when you take it with any other CNS depressants, these effects may be more substantial effects. Alcohol, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines should not be taken with the medication. In case you are taking more than one CNS depressants at the same time, consult your doctor and be cautious while doing so.
Concomitant use of meprobamate and soma can also cause additive adverse effects.
Carisoprodol gets metabolized in your liver by the CYP2C19 enzyme to form meprobamate, its major metabolite. Co-administration of inhibitors of CYP2C19, such as fluvoxamine or omeprazole, with soma, could cause increased exposure of its active ingredient carisoprodol and decreased levels of meprobamate.
Concomitant use of inducers of CYP2C19, such as St. John’s Wort or rifampin, with the medication could reduce exposure of carisoprodol and increased levels of meprobamate.
Low dose aspirin also causes an induction effect on CYP2C19 enzymes. The full pharmacological impact of these potential changes of levels in terms of either safety or efficacy of soma is not yet known.
Side Effects
Soma side effects are usually mild and subside when you use the medication for two to three days. The most frequently occurring mild effects are sleepiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, and headache.

Facial flushing
Vertigo
Tremor
Ataxia
Irritability
Depressive reactions
